Festival Venues & Walking Times

The Riga Society House is the ITF homebase, and most events take place here. Large Hall, Ligo Hall, Golden Hall,and Fireplace Hall (Late Night Jazz) are all here. Competition Finals (and some rehearsals) will take place at the Medini School.

Approximate walking time from Riga Society House:

  • Vērmanes Garden (Outdoor Concerts on Saturday) 2 minutes

  • Jāzeps Mediņš Riga Secondary School of Music (Rehearsals & Competition Finals) 8–10 minutes

  • Mercure Riga Centre Hotel (Festival Hotel) 5 minutes

  • Tallink Hotel Riga (Festival Hotel)5 minutes

  • Riga Dome Cathedral (Concert Venue, Thursday night)15–20 minutes

  • Museum of the History of Riga & Navigation (Lecture Venue, thursday night)17–22 minutes (in the same building at Riga Dome Cathedral)

Student Housing

Duck Republik – Lauvas iela 1: Student housing is located outside the central festival area.

  • Bolt: approximately 10–15 minutes, depending on traffic

  • Public transit: approximately 20–30 minutes

  • Walking: approximately 45–50 minutes

Getting Around Riga

Riga's city center is compact and very walkable. Once you are at the Society House, all festival venues are within a 15 minute walk. Bolt is inexpensive and widely available throughout the city. Public buses and trams also provide convenient service throughout the city.
