2026 International Trombone Festival Hold Harmless Agreement

By registering for the 2026 International Trombone Festival (hereinafter referred to as “the Festival”), to be held at Riga Society House, Riga Cathedral, Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, and Vērmanes Garden in Riga, July 29–August 1, 2026, I agree to the following terms.

This agreement applies to all Festival activities, events, performances, rehearsals, and related activities conducted in connection with the 2026 International Trombone Festival.

Assumption of Risk

I acknowledge that participation in the Festival, including but not limited to attending, performing, rehearsing, traveling between venues, and engaging in any activities or events, may involve inherent risks, including physical injury, illness, or accidents. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation in the Festival, whether known or unknown, and agree to take full responsibility for my safety and well-being during the event.

Personal Responsibility

I agree to conduct myself in a safe and responsible manner during the Festival and to comply with all applicable laws, venue regulations, and instructions provided by Festival organizers and venue staff. I understand that failure to comply with such rules may result in my removal from Festival activities without refund.

Travel Between Venues

I acknowledge that Festival activities take place at multiple venues and locations. Transportation between venues, accommodations, and other locations is my own responsibility, and I assume all risks associated with travel to, from, and between Festival locations.

Release and Waiver

I, on behalf of myself and my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless the International Trombone Festival, its organizers, staff, volunteers, Vairis Nartiss (Festival host), and all affiliated organizations from any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, loss of instruments or personal belongings, or death arising from or related to my participation in the Festival.

This release includes, without limitation, any claims arising from negligence, misadventure, or any unforeseen event occurring during my participation in the Festival, whether caused by the negligence of the released parties or otherwise.

Indemnification

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Festival, its organizers, staff, volunteers, and all related parties from and against any and all claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees and legal costs) that may arise from my actions or omissions during the Festival, including those caused by my own negligence.

Medical Care

I consent to receiving medical treatment in the event of an emergency or injury during the Festival. I understand that I am responsible for any medical expenses incurred as a result.

Use of Likeness

I grant the Festival organizers the right to use my image, photograph, audio recording, or video recording taken during the Festival for promotional, archival, and educational purposes, including but not limited to the Festival website, social media, brochures, and other marketing materials, without compensation or further consent.

Governing Law

This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Latvia.

Venue for Legal Claims

Any dispute, claim, or legal proceeding arising out of or relating to this agreement or participation in the Festival shall be brought exclusively in the courts of the Republic of Latvia, and the participant hereby consents to the jurisdiction of such courts.

Acknowledgment

By completing my registration for the 2026 International Trombone Festival, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and voluntarily agree to the terms and conditions of this Hold Harmless Agreement. I understand that my participation in the Festival is contingent upon my acceptance of these terms.
